New Frame Design and Racket length
To allow ‘’Astrox 88 S’’ hold the shuttlecock for accurate control, while ‘’Astrox 88 D’’ has more flex in the upper part of the frame to transmit maximum power to the shuttlecock Yonex have made the whole frame flexible. In addition, the overall length of ‘’88 D’’ is 10mm longer to provide powerful attacks, while ‘’88 S’’ has only 5mm longer length, which enhances both accuracy and power.
Energy boost cap
Newly designed shape allows shaft to flex more, which maximizes the effect of ‘’Namd’’. It stabilizes the face of the racket and prevents shaft twisting and therefore increases control.
Rotational Generator System
Application of counterbalance technology distributes weight throughout the grip end, joint and frame top to achieve maximum control. Transiting to the next shot can be done smoothly with a rapid succession.
NANOMETRIC* technology provides improved bonding strength in between the carbon fibers. This allows Yonex to take the racket shaft construction to another level by reducing amount of carbon used in the shaft to make it 60%* thinner than a conventional racquet whilst keeping the same stiffness. World-first, new dimension graphite material. ‘’Namd’’ has a big improvement on adhesion of the graphite fibers and resin. All of this is achieved by attaching nanomaterial directly to the graphite fiber.
It is common to combine nanomaterials with resin that connects graphite fibers in high performance rackets, but in ‘’Namd’’, nanomaterials are directly adhered to the graphite fibers and the amount of resin is greatly increased. This huge improvement results in a shaft, that flexes and stores the energy, delivering big amount of explosive force on impact with the shuttle.
Square shaped ISOMETRIC frame shape is designed to keep vertical strings at similar length, as well as horizontal ones. This allows the racket to produce an expanded sweet spot in all directions.
New Grommet Pattern
The single-pass grommet hole construction allows to implement more grommet holes for a more high-performance stringing pattern.
Solid Feel Core
Built in solid feel core cuts out harmful diverse vibrations during the impact. Solid feel core is implemented in all rackets manufactured in Japan.

NEW Built-in T-joint
Built-in T- Joint is produced from special lightweight plastic and it is combined with epoxy resin and foaming agent. It enhances the quality and performance by increased stability of the shuttlecock on the string bed and through air.
